Nearly every little girl and many adult girls dream about their perfect wedding day and for some this involves traveling to a new location. It can be as close as
Las Vegas or as far away as Hawaii or the Bahamas. Those who decide to travel for their wedding may be interested in learning more about travel destination wedding favors.
The Facts
Travel destination wedding favors are exactly like traditional wedding favors, but with a connection to the destination. For example, if you're getting married in Las Vegas, you might consider using wedding favors related to that place such as fuzzy dice with your names and the wedding date printed on the front. Those traveling to a beach wedding might prefer tote bags or beach bags with the names and date on the front.
Warning
It's easy to see some of the fun travel destination wedding favors and let it go to your head. Instead of thinking about your budget, you focus on all the fun things out there. You need to be very careful since the larger items are often quite expensive. Keep your budget in mind at all times and don't be afraid to shop around. You never know when you might find a great item on sale in your own area that fits the theme and location of your wedding.
Consideration
Before picking out favors for the wedding, take into account the weight of each item since you'll either have to take them on the plane or pay for shipping. You should also avoid foods, especially foods like chocolate and soft candies, which can melt before you even make it to the destination. Also, watch out for glass products, because while they look great, they might break on the way and leave you without any wedding favors.
Inexpensive Items
When you first start looking at travel destination wedding favors, you might feel overwhelmed at the cost of those items since some are fairly expensive. An easy solution is to look for things that you can make at home, which only cost you a little time and money. Photo albums decorated with scrapbooking stickers are a good choice, but so are bookmarks, luggage tags, and even gift bags or baskets.
Tips
A great way to ensure that everyone receives their wedding favor is to ask the hotel to put the items in the guest rooms. This is especially nice if you plan on using gift bags or gift boxes. When the guests check in, they'll find your present waiting for them. You can also save money by shopping at your destination once you arrive. You can find inexpensive items at local markets, festivals and shops that fit the theme of your wedding.
