When searching for enjoyable activities to do during your spring break, the possibilities might seem limited if you are not able to travel out of town. Even if your family is not able to take a weeklong vacation this year, there are still quite a few adventures you can have around your city.
Exploring
The easiest way to have new experiences--and find things to do--is to see as much of your town as possible. Check out every nook and cranny in your city, and you might be surprised to find areas that you never bothered to notice before. This could mean parks or walking trails or even neat neighborhoods that are new to you and your friends. Drive around, or take longs walks to be able to look at things more leisurely. Every town has hidden treasures, and all you have to do is seek them out.
Reading
Spring break allows you to do things for which you don't have time during the school year. One of them is read books of your choice instead of those required for class. Between the many TV channels and the vastness of the Internet, a book might seem to be a thing of the past, but it is worth the time. List all of the novels you always wanted to read but never got around to, and pick at least one to enjoy during your vacation. There are many e-books available on the Internet if you can't seem to get away from your computer.
Learning
Another fun thing to do over spring break is to learn about a topic that is not taught at your school. Research it thoroughly during your vacation. It might seem as though you are still in school, but the difference is that you can study only the themes that interest you. Not only will this be enjoyable for you, but you can also impress your classmates when you get back with trivia and little-known facts about an interesting subject. If you get a few friends together to seek out a topic, it can become a game of who can find out the most.
Scrapbooking
During your fun-filled week, record your moments. You can do this through photographs, ticket stubs and other memorabilia. If you make it a group project with your friends, it can become a few fun afternoons all in itself. Make copies of pictures to give to your friends, and buy a photo album or scrapbook to preserve your vacation forever. Even if this is your first attempt at such a thing, it will become a treasured keepsake for decades to come. Years from now, you will page through your memories, and no matter how uneventful or small your activities seem now, the fun things you did during spring break will seem like one of the best times of your life.
