Orlando Spring Break Activities
Most people enjoy heading down to
Orlando, Florida for spring break, mainly because of the warm weather and wealth of activities available for all ages. Most destinations include outdoor activities that allow friends and family to enjoy both thrill seeking and relaxation. The great thing about Orlando is that it offers something for everyone from water to roller coasters. No one leaves Orlando disappointed at spring break.
Disney's Blizzard Beach
Disney is host to one of the tallest and largest free-falling water slides in the United States--Blizzard beach. Blizzard Beach is designed to resemble a Swiss ski slope resort that transformed itself after a freak snowstorm hit this tropical paradise. Blizzard Beach is also a great hot spot for spring breakers. This is a teenager's paradise, giving both the adrenaline rush of water slides and slalom courses with time to mingle by the lazy river.
Disney's Epcot Theme Park
Disney is home to some of the most magical theme parks in the world. Epcot is the perfect location for spring breakers of all ages to indulge in activities and take their mind off of the real world. Epcot is a great place for the sci-fi enthusiast. Travel into the future at Spaceship Earth or soar through the sky in the IMAX replicated ride called "Soarin'." World Showcase at Epcot allows spring breakers to discover the feel of different cultures, such as Japan and Morocco.
Universal Studios
To really stay busy during spring break, one activity would be to visit Universal Studios theme park in Orlando, Florida. Guests can visit "Citywalk" and dine at some of the park's finest and most popular restaurants like The Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, The Hard Rock Cafe and Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. Strolling through will take guests to a fork in the road where they can choose one of two theme parks, Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure. Universal Studios takes guests on a back stage look at what goes on behind the scenes at a real Hollywood set. Spring breakers can get their adrenaline rush with the Jaws ride that re-enacts actual footage from the famed movie set. Over on the other side at Islands of Adventure, teens and thrill-seekers can hop aboard Dueling Dragons, the world's first dueling inverted roller coaster.
Sea World
Sea World offers a wealth of activities for spring break and this is the park's busiest tourist season. Start off with some breathtaking shows by the world's most popular killer whale, Shamu. "Believe" involves state of the art music and choreography to leave guests on the edge of their seats. Watch the sea lion show as they interact with otters, walruses and SeaWorld human staff to bring laughs to the audience. Be sure to catch the "Manta," SeaWorld's new water coaster that makes riders feel as though they are an actual stingray soaring from air to sea.
Discovery Cove
For spring breakers who love to be active while on vacation, Discovery Cove is the perfect answer. Guests can actually interact with a live aquatic environment. Some of the activities include swimming with bottle nose dolphins or observing exotic birds in flight. You can also explore enchanting grottos and charming coral reefs and swim freely among sting rays and colorful fish. This activity is great for spring breakers of all ages, including children over the age of 8.
