For vacationers who want to enjoy breathtaking scenery and an assortment of wildlife, a trip to Grand Teton National Park is a good choice any time of year. This national park is adjacent to the beautiful Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. While it is possible to stay at the park, some visitors opt to stay in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Wildlife
According to ParksReservations.com, you can expect to see bison, elk, moose and deer during your trip to Grand Teton National Park. Some visitors may even see bald eagles, grizzly bears and black bears.
Mountains
The Grand Teton National Park features eight mountain peaks that are over 12,000 feet---one of which is the Grand Teton.
Winter in Grand Teton
The National Park Service reports that while Grand Teton National Park is open during the winter months, visitors should be prepared to brave the elements---a winter safety kit for your vehicle is recommended, as is an outdoor kit that includes water, extra clothing and high-energy snacks such as nuts or cheese.
Bears
Visitors to Grand Teton National Park should be prepared to encounter bears. According to the National Parks Service, all visitors must purchase special bear proof containers for food.
