Canyon Ranch in Tucson, Arizona, is a high-end spa and resort for those who want to combine a relaxing vacation in beautiful surroundings with the opportunity to make positive lifestyle changes. It offers integrative medicine services along with spa and recreational programs.
Setting

Canyon Ranch Tucson covers more than 200 acres on the east side of Tucson in the Sonoran Desert. Temperatures are moderate in the winter and hot and dry most of the summer.

Accommodations

Deluxe rooms have one or two beds, a desk and vanities. The larger Executive rooms also have a sitting area and second vanity. Luxury suites include living, dining and kitchen areas and a private patio. The 2,700-square-foot Casa Grande can house up to six people.

Amenities

In-room amenities include Internet access, refrigerators, robes, TV and stereo. The resort offers a full-service spa, aquatic center, tennis court and hiking trails. Meals and snacks are included.

Services

Health services include physician consultations, diagnostic testing and behavioral assessments. Spa services include traditional massage, ayurveda, Asian therapies, essential oil treatments and facials.

Rates

Rates vary based on the time of year, the type of accommodations and the specific program that you select. As of 2009, rates range from $2,270 for a four-night Spa Sampler in a deluxe double room to $18,290 for a 10-night stay in a one-bedroom suite.

Special Programs

The week-long Life Enhancement Center and the Executive Health Program are for people who are committed to improving their health and well-being and realize they need to take an active part in the process. Participants meet with health practitioners, attend lectures and work with other specialists to design a lifestyle program.

Heidi Wiesenfelder received her Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University, and since 1990 has published research papers in the Journal of Neuroscience, Visual Neuroscience, and Visual Perception. She is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt (process improvement expert) and a consultant to small businesses and nonprofits. She has held leadership roles in animal welfare organizations and educates people about animal health and nutrition.
