Branson, Mo., is one of the country's best entertainment venues where visitors can see top-notch music, comedy and dance acts. With nearly 7 million tourists annually, Branson is home to more than 40 theaters that feature shows by world-class traveling acts and local celebrities, giving it the reputation as "the live country music capital of the universe," according to 60 Minutes. Following is a guide to some of the best shows in Branson.
Presleys' Country Jubilee
During this nightly variety show, the audience is in for a full evening of classic country and raucous antics, as four generations of the musically precocious Presley family take the stage. Known as Branson's first family of entertainment, the Presleys' Jubilee earned the reputation for "a stomp-your-feet mix of music and comedy" by the Los Angeles Times.

Yakov Smirnoff Comedy Show
Russian comedian Yakov Smirnoff has his own theater in Branson, where he has twice been named Comedian of the Year. World-famous for his hilarious routine since the mid-1980s, Smirnoff offers a legendary comedic performance along with Russian dancers and lavish opening and closing events. Also consider Yakov's Moscow Circus, a blend of acrobatics, comedy and family dynamics (new for 2010).

Pierce Arrow
Known for patriotic songs, spirited gospel and country favorites, this group of talented entertainers is dedicated to pleasing the audience. Dixie Stampede
Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show is routinely mentioned as one of the most fun places to eat in Branson. Patrons will enjoy a four-course meal during an elaborate 32 horse show, styled into an amiable North-South rivalry theme. The Stampede and a host of other entertainment possibilities (including ostrich racing and games) are housed in a 35,000-square foot arena. Audience participation is standard.
