Disneyland Resort
No trip to Southern California is complete without a trip to Disneyland resort whether you are young or just young at heart. This famous resort park, which is now comprised of both Disneyland theme park as well as California Adventure, is home to popular restaurants and famous rides. Disneyland has several hotels; the Disneyland Hotel, the Grand Californian and the Paradise Pier Hotel that belong exclusively to the park and incorporate the Disney theme throughout their decor and amenities to give guests a truly authentic experience. However, the resort itself is surrounded by hotels, and accommodations can be found for any budget. Directly next to the Resort is Downtown Disney, which has shops, restaurants and an exciting nightlife scene. Disneyland Resort offers enough entertainment to keep you busy as long as you wish to stay and is an effective choice for anyone seeking to entertain everyone in their group.
Hotel Del Coronado
The Hotel Del Coronado, built in 1888, is located in San Diego and was pronounced a national landmark in 1977. "USA Today" named the Hotel Del Coronado (nicknamed The Del) "one of the top 10 resorts in the world." This four-diamond hotel has played host to presidents and celebrities, but also caters to everyone from honeymooners to families. The Del offers something for everyone with its island setting, magnificent beaches and kid's adventure programs. During the summer months, the beaches around The Del offer some of the best surfing in the world, while being mild and exclusive enough for those who simply want to sunbathe. If you are lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of one of the hotel's famous ghosts.
Los Angeles
Los Angeles has something to offer every traveler. If shopping is your passion, visit West Hollywood, known to the locals as WeHo, and browse the jewelry, clothing and furniture stores, and restaurants along Melrose Avenue and Beverly Boulevard. If you want to experience more upscale shopping, head over to Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. For nightlife options, visit the Sunset Strip, and stop into one of many comedy clubs such as The Laugh Factory (8001 W Sunset Blvd), or a live music bar such as Whiskey A Go Go (8901 W Sunset Blvd) or The Roxy Theater (9009 W Sunset Blvd).
Venice beach is known for its sunbathing beaches and people-watching opportunities.
