The Catskills is a mountainous, wooded area in
New York that features dozens of outdoor activities for New Yorkers and visitors from other areas. Among other things, guests in the Catskills can camp, golf and view fall foliage in the warm weather and downhill and cross country ski in the winter. There are a number of quaint restaurants in the area to accommodate visiting guests.
Peekamoose Restaurant
The owners of the Peekamoose Restaurant had a desire to move closer to the area in which they receive their food after working for years at some of New York City's top restaurants, such as Guastavino's, Picholine and the Hudson River Club. The restaurant can cater and will host events for groups as small as 12 or as large as 300. The restaurant has hosted events for Nelson Mandela, Robert Redford and Brad Pitt. Peekamoose features specialties such as pan-seared rainbow trout and wood-grilled sirloin steak.

Among other awards, the restaurant has been named "Best Restaurant Worth a Drive" by Albany's Metroland Magazine and "Best Restaurant in Greene County" by Hudson Valley Magazine. The restaurant includes dishes that feature American and regional New York cuisine. Among some of the dishes are Hudson Valley lamb sausage and smoked Catskill rainbow trout.

Pine Hill Arms Hotel & Restaurant
The Pine Hill Arms Hotel & Restaurant allows guests in the Catskills to find a comfortable place to sleep and dine. Because the restaurant is only about five minutes from Belleayre Mountain, it is a popular place to eat after spending the day outdoors. Guests who come to the restaurant before 6:30 p.m. can choose from a selection of early bird dinners, including a grilled chicken breast entree with lime sauce. The restaurant might be one of the most historic places to dine in the Catskills. Pine Hill Arms has been open for business since 1882.
