About Disney Cruises
Disney Cruise Line is a popular cruise line that is geared to children and families, although it also offers many amenities aimed at adults. Its ships have activities that appeal to just about anyone. There are also plenty of dining opportunities onboard. The ships have regular itineraries, although special itineraries are sometimes added for variety.
Ships

Disney Cruise Line currently has two ships, with two more being built. The current ships are the Disney Magic, launched in 1998, and the Disney Wonder, launched in 1999. The Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy will be launched in 2011 and 2012, respectively.

Itineraries

Disney Cruise Line offers three- and four-night cruises to Nassau and Disney's private island, Castaway Cay. It also offers weeklong Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises. Those are the usual itineraries as of summer 2009, but Disney often has special cruises to areas like the Mexican Riveria, Europe and the Baltic Sea and will likely add new itineraries when the new ships set sail.

Amenities

Disney Cruise Line's ships have multiple swimming pools, and the children's pool has a water slide. Each ship also has a splash area for youngsters who are not potty trained. Other amenities include a basketball court, whirlpools, spa, fitness center and coffee bar.

Activities

Disney Cruise Line has special activities for both adults and children. There are kids' clubs with activities geared to certain age groups, a teen club and adult nightclubs. Each age group also has its own pool. There are several onboard parties, including a pirate-themed party with fireworks.

Restaurants

There are three main restaurants plus a special adults-only restaurant that requires reservations and has a surcharge. There are also several fast food outlets serving items like pizza, burgers, hot dogs, sandwich wraps and ice cream.

Staterooms

All Disney Cruise Line staterooms feature bathtubs to make it easier to bathe children. There are 12 stateroom categories ranging from interior rooms to rooms with portholes or verandahs and even multi-room suites.
