Red Lion hotels are those within a chain of hotels located on the west coast of the
United States. This relatively new company only began building hotels in the 1970s. Though they now have locations in two countries and ten states, they're still better known on the west coast than in other areas of the country.
Geography
There are Red Lion hotels in ten U.S. states: Alaska, California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Additionally, they have hotels in British Columbia, Canada.
Guarantee
Red Lion places a guarantee on all hotel reservations made using its Website. If a traveler finds a cheaper rate through any other means, the hotel will give her a free night's stay.
History
The Red Lion chain dates back to 1976. The parent company had a focus on real estate development in Washington, but it opened the first Red Lion hotel. WestHotels, Inc. purchased the brand in 1999.
R&R Club
Red Lion uses the R&R Club for frequent guests. Travelers earn points for each night they stay, which they can exchange for free hotel stays, tickets to events and discounts on rental cars.
Vacation Deals
The chain created a new program, which allows travelers to book a vacation package and save money. They can book a flight, rent a car and make hotel reservations through Red Lion; the customer can then save money on the entire package.
