La Manga Club, or La Manga, as it is commonly known is a vacation
resort located in Murcia, Spain. It is known for its emphasis on sports, with tennis and golf located on the premises. Guests also love the amenities and service provided as well as the number of things to do at the property.
Climate
Murcia, Spain and La Manga Club receives a total of more than 300 days of sunshine every year, with only a few rainy days and days with snow. The area has a mild winter, which almost feels like spring. This allows the resort to offer sports related experiences throughout the year. Even during the winter months you can still enjoy a round of golf at the resort, play a game of soccer or take a lesson with one of the tennis pros on staff.
Amenities
La Manga Club covers more than 1,400 acres of land and offers dozens of different amenities for guests. On-site are meeting facilities for business travelers and companies hosting corporate events as the site. There are more than 20 different bars and restaurants, each with its own type of cuisine and clientele. You also have the option of enjoying a few hours at the resort's spa or take classes from one of the locals pros.
Accommodations
There are 1,800 apartments and villas at La Manga Club, which covers all of the hotels and villas at the resort. The Hotel La Manga Club Principe Felipe Hotel is a five-star hotel located at the resort with top of the line bedding and entertainment in the rooms. Guests also have the option of staying at Las Lomas Village, where rooms are more like small apartments and guests experience more freedom. The Peninsular Club is another vacation club with private rooms located at the resort.
Sports
La Manga Club offers a golf academy where you have the chance to learn from professional players, practice spaces and three championship golf courses. The tennis center offers 28 different courts for guests as well as an academy with lessons taught by former professionals. Also at La Manga Club is a 2,000 square foot swimming pool, a fitness center, cricket grounds and a center for professional football. Children under the age of 12 are invited to join the Junior Club, with sports and lessons.
Awards
In 2009, La Manga Club was nominated for the World Luxury Hotel Awards for its excellent service and top of the line amenities. The World Travel Awards also named it Spain's Leading Golf Resort in 2006 and Europe's Leading Golf Resort for three years. Hertz likewise picked it as the top European Golf Resort of the Year in 1999.
