Island Vacations
Island vacations offer travelers one-of-a-kind opportunities to explore the beauty, art, history, culture and culinary treasures of individual islands while also having the time to relax on sandy beaches under the sun. Whether you are a traveler looking to get away to an island right off the coast of southern California or find yourself halfway across the world, there is an island vacation of your dreams out there.
Catalina Island

Catalina Island is an eight-mile-wide and 21-mile-long island located approximately 20 miles from the southern California shore. William Wrigley, the chewing-gum tycoon, owned the island and set up a conservancy to protect it from overdevelopment. Today, Catalina Island beach visitors are in the company of sea lions, whales, harbor seals and dolphins. Scuba divers and snorkelers can enjoy the abundant sea life while sightseers can take in the Catalina Casino, glass-bottom boat rides, the Catalina Island Museum and the marine preservation Lover's Cove.
