Step 1
Decide where you would like to stay. Palace Resorts offer 12 different properties in six cities. You should sit down with all parties involved in purchasing the timeshare and weigh the benefits of each location. This will be a yearly vacation spot so it is extremely important that everyone is on the same page to avoid any feelings of regret later.
Step 2
Decide which property you would like to join. Depending on the city you choose to stay in, Palace Resorts may offer more than one resort in that location. For example, in Cancun, Mexico, Palace offers four separate resorts. Since you don't have to be a member to book your vacation, you can try the resorts out before you buy. It is recommended to stay in all of the locations in your chosen city if at all possible so you can get a feel for which resort offers all of the services and amenities you are looking for.
Step 3
Speak to other members. One of the best ways to determine is other members are happy with the choice they have made is to simply ask them. Members can be identified by the wristbands that are worn during their stay. The wristbands give members access to locations within the resort that non-members will not have access to, as well as various other perks. Members of the resort are usually happy to answer any questions you may have about their experiences and the resort itself. Some members may have experience will multiple locations as well, so if you are having trouble deciding among your choices, members may be able to give you the advantages of one location over another.
Step 4
Contact the concierge. If you are on-site and have made your decision, you can contact the concierge and let them know you are interested in becoming a member. If you have already returned home, you can also contact a concierge associate by phone at 800-635-1836. The concierge will ask questions to identify how often you would like to use the resort, what amenities you will be interested in using and if you are interested in multiple resorts. This information will help the representative create a custom package that will fit your needs and include everything you are looking for. The representative will then discuss the costs of the package and give you the opportunity to make any changes based on what you are hoping to spend.
Step 5
Discuss additional costs. Other than just the cost of the package, timeshares generally have some additional costs involved such as maintenance fees that must be paid annually. The cost can vary by location so be sure to ask you representative about these.
Step 6
Finalize the deal. Once you have discussed all of the options and have made a final decision, you'll need to sign the paperwork. If you are on-site when the decision is made, the concierge can walk you through it. If you are not on-site, Palace Resorts will send you the package through the mail for you to fill out and mail back. The paperwork will include basic identifying information, payment information and agreements for the rules, duration of stays, etc. Make sure everything is fill out correctly and completely.
