How to Use a Kodak EasyShare C743 Camera

The Kodak EasyShare C743 is a digital camera that comes with an optical viewfinder, built-in lens protection and continuous digital zoom with LCD preview. The C743 is ISO sensitive, allowing for environment adjustments from day, night, sports and manual selections. This digital camera also offers video capture options with live view and sound features.

Step 1

Begin your camera's setup by installing two new AA batteries. For the most battery life, Kodak recommends that you use 2 CRV3 Lithium batteries that will provide up to 500 pictures before changing. Standard alkaline batteries will provide 80 to 100 pictures before changing. Locate the battery door on the underside of the camera. Slide the door open to install the batteries.

Step 2

Turn on your camera by rotating the round setting switch, at the top of the camera, to the ON position. This position is indicated by the green mark on the switch. The camera's first use will require you to select your language option and set the date and time.

Step 3

Turn the round setting switch to the green icon. Take a picture by pressing the Shutter button slightly. This will allow you to focus the picture and set the exposure. The ready light will turn green. Press the Shutter button completely to take the picture. The picture will display in the LCD for five seconds after it is taken.

Step 4

Film your video by turning the round setting witch to the "Movie" icon. Press the Shutter button and release. Begin recording your video. Press the Shutter button again to stop the recording.

Step 5

Review your pictures and videos by pressing the "Review" button. Use the left and right arrows to scroll through the options. Press "OK" to play a video selection. Press "OK" again to stop the playback. Use the up and down arrows to adjust the volume. You can adjust the picture's magnification by choosing the "W" (wide-angle) or "T" (telephonic angle) buttons located at the top right corner near the LCD display. Use the left/right and up/down buttons to move through the picture.

Step 6

Use the flash when taking pictures indoors, at night or outdoors in heavy shadows. Choose your flash mode by pressing the "lightning" symbol at the top of the camera, near the round setting switch. The selected flash mode will appear in the LCD screen.

Step 7

Download the EasyShare software CD onto your computer system. The software may require you to restart your computer. To transfer your pictures and videos onto your computer, first turn off your camera. Connect the USB cable to your camera and computer. Turn on your camera. The EasyShare software will open and direct you through the transfer process.
