"A GPS is a satellite-based navigation system made up of a network of 24 satellites placed into orbit by the US"--Garmin. Garmin's GPS models are both easy to use and very convenient when traveling short or long distances. They include a variety of features and allow you to find destinations with just a few touches. Whether you are using the 1200, 1300 or 1400 series, within minutes you can begin navigating to your favorite destinations.
Instructions
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step 1
Power on your Garmin GPS and touch "Where to."
Step 2
Select the state you want to navigate through. Touch "Spell City" and enter the city or ZIP code and touch "Done."
Step 3
Enter the number of the address and touch "Done." Enter the street name and touch "Done." Touch the address if necessary and touch "GO" to begin the navigation.
Step 4
Tap "Where to" and tap "Go Home."
Step 5
Enter your home address or select from the list of recently used locations.
Step 6
Tap "Where to" if you want your Garmin GPS to direct you home from where you are. Tap "Go Home." and tap "Go."
Step 7
Tap "Where to" and tap "Coordinates."
Step 8
Touch the coordinate you want to adjust and touch "Format" to select the coordinate format for the type of map you are using.
Step 9
Enter the coordinates for the location you want to go to and touch "Next."
Step 10
Tap "Where to" and tap "Points of interest."
Step 11
Select the category that you want. You can choose from transit, entertainment, hospitals, parking, food, gas and more.
Step 12
Touch the up and down arrows to scroll through the point of interests in the category that you have chosen. Select the destination to go to and touch "GO."
