Things to Do While in New York
state encompasses a large variety of cultures and topography. A tourist can satisfy a love of history, shopping, eating or music no matter where he or she goes in the state. In order to facilitate a smooth trip, it is important that a tourist pick and choose some of the best things to see before visiting.
New York City
New York City is a must-stop for tourists. Popular attractions include landmarks like the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center. A good way to see a lot in a short amount of time is to take a boat or bus tour.
The Adirondacks Region
This area is known for its famous lakes and rustic scenery and historic landmarks like Fort Ticonderoga. Visitors to Lake George should check out Six Flags Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom, which has over a hundred rides and a large water park.
Catskills
Woodstock is perhaps best known for its artists' colony. It's also known for its fall colors and winter skiing. Tourists can learn about organic farming at the Apple Pond Farming Center in Sullivan County.
