More cash on hand means more fun when you're traveling to "The City of Lights" ---
Las Vegas, Nevada. You can save some money by sacrificing a few amenities and staying at a one star hotel near the action. At the barest minimum, you just need to know you have a place to lay your head after hours of partying, gambling and exploring the strip.
Americas Best Value Inn-Lakemead
The great thing about this one star hotel in Henderson, Nevada is that there is a casino at the hotel, so you don't always have to feel pressured to drive to the Vegas Strip. You get a couple of very basic standard amenities in your room, such as cable TV and free local calling. There is a pool outside that is open seasonally. Las Vegas is about 10 miles away. All of this costs only about $50 a night.

Ambassador Strip Inn Travelodge
The Ambassador, which is located on Koval Lane off of Tropicana near the Vegas strip, offers a variety of features, including free breakfast in the morning, refrigerators and microwaves in each room, cable TV (including HBO), free Internet access, and a full-sized swimming pool. The hotel costs about $50 per night.

Airport Inn Las Vegas
You want a very cheap hotel (around $20 to $40 per night) that is closer to the airport (with airport shuttle service), try the Airport Inn on Paradise Road near the main attractions in Las Vegas. It is located on the east side of the main strip. Amenities are thin, but you get the basics --- a working television, pool and parking for your car. This hotel is located off of Tropicana Avenue not far from the Thomas and Mack Center (an entertainment complex at UNLV).

Nevada Club Inn
Las Vegas is close to the border of both Arizona and California. If you don't mind traveling to another state, try Bullhead City in Arizona where you'll find the Nevada Club Inn. This property offers a free continental breakfast, outdoor courts and courses for playing sports, and free WiFi service. The nightly price starts at about $60 and goes up from there. It is located off of Mohave Valley Highway on the border with Nevada.
