The Federal Republic of Nigeria has an embassy located in Washington, D.C. and consulates in New York and Atlanta making it easy to meet all your consular needs. You can renew your Nigerian passport easily by mail if your passport is less than ten years old. Alternatively you can visit the Immigration Office at the Nigerian Embassy or Consulates, which also handles passport applications.

Step 1

Print and complete the Nigerian Passport Renewal form. The form is accessible online from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Washington, D.C. website (see resources).

Step 2

Send the fee with your application for renewal. The fee is $65, which includes a $20 processing fee. Money orders are the only accepted method of payment. Make the money order out to the "Embassy of Nigeria." If you require the expedited service, include an additional $20 in your application.

Step 3

Include your old passport with the application.

Step 4

Include a return prepaid USPS Express Mail envelope with your application so that your renewed passport to be mailed back to you.

Step 5

Mail your completed application to one of the following addresses in either Washington D.C., New York or Atlanta, Georgia.
