How to Plan a Las Vegas Trip
Las Vegas is an exciting vacation destination, and planning a trip to this fun-filled place could not be easier. Once you have an idea of how much you want to spend, you will have your choice of many wonderful hotels to meet any budget. In addition, great food and quality entertainment can be found all over the city. Follow these steps and start planning your trip to the Vegas Strip.
Instructions
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step 1
Decide how much money you have to spend on your trip. This will serve as a rough estimate of your vacation budget.
Step 2
Research and book your flights. If your trip is more than 6 months away, you may want to watch the flight prices for a few weeks in case the rates would drop. Your flight destination will be McCarran International Airport (LAS).
Step 3
Choose and book your hotel. Think about where you would prefer to be on the strip and how upscale of a hotel you desire. The Monte Carlo and New York New York are south end hotels that offer budget pricing for quality accommodations, while the Wynn and Venetian on the north end are very upscale with prices to reflect that.
Step 4
Think about your transportation. Consider how you will get from the airport to your hotel. Often shuttles or taxis are the best option.
Step 5
Decide if you will rent a car. It is easy to get around on the Strip on foot and with a combination of taxis, the Deuce bus and a minimal amount of hotel-to-hotel rail systems. However, if you plan to go downtown or to an off-strip site, you may want a car.
Step 6
Select the shows you plan to see. Comedy shows and theater events such as Cirque du Soleil typically begin releasing tickets for purchase 60 days in advance. For the best seats you will want to be ready to buy them as soon as they go on sale.
Step 7
Consider where you plan to eat during your stay. If you want to dine at upscale restaurants such as Carnevino at the Palazzo, or at Mon Ami Gabi in Paris, you will need to make reservations ahead of time--especially on weekend nights.
Step 8
Organize your travel documents, airline tickets, hotel confirmations, show tickets and reservations into a packet that you can take with you once the day of your trip arrives.
