Great Restaurants in Chicago

It's easy to find great restaurants in Chicago, a city known for them--but it's also difficult, for the same reason: there are so many. The Mobile Travel Guide restaurant rating system is comprehensive and well-respected, and is a good criteria with which to choose one of Chicago's great restaurants.
Charlie Trotter's

In addition to being considered one of the top restaurants in Chicago, Charlie Trotter's is also widely regarded to be one of the top restaurants in the world. Charlie Trotter's is a Mobil five-star restaurant (the highest rating) as well as the recipient of 10 James Beard Foundation awards. The restaurant features four dining rooms that are quietly elegant and feature floral arrangements and sweet fruit fragrances. One of the dining areas--the Studio Kitchen--features a television showing the kitchen so diners can actually watch their food being prepared. Some of the dishes include Arkansas rabbit loin, tempura of Nantucket Bay scallops and confit of white turnip.

Everest

Everest is a Mobil four-star rated restaurant that is located in a prime spot for Chicago's big wigs--on the 40th Floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange. The Chicago Tribune has named Everest the most romantic restaurant in Chicago while Gourmet claimed that the restaurant is the best restaurant for business dining in Chicago. Some might say the decor is as impressive as the cuisine; each table features a bronze sculpture and Adam Siegel paintings line the walls of the establishment. Some of the meals include home-smoked salmon naturale, oysters, duck and Caspian Sea caviar.
