St. George Island State Park
St. George Island State Park protects a naturally scenic and undeveloped part of the northwestern Florida coast. Visitors enjoy the Gulf of Mexico on one side of the park and Apalachicola Bay on the other side. Sea turtles and shore birds use the natural areas of the park to nest. Fishermen have two boat ramps, and they fish for flounder, Spanish mackerel and other native fish. Campers use full service or primitive campsites. Go on a picnic at the park in one of the six large picnic shelters that offer grills and tables.

St. George Island features many small shops featuring gifts, beachwear and other items. Island Adventures is a popular spot to pick up beach supplies, sunglasses and men's and women's clothing. This shop also has fishing gear, boogie boards and bike rentals.

St. George Island's fishermen keep its restaurants supplied with an abundance of delicious fresh seafood. Eddy Teach's Raw Bar offers tasty oysters, a large selection of imported beer and famous burgers as well. Eddy Teach's has music on the weekends.

Play a Round of Golf
St. James Bay Golf Course in nearby Carrabelle was built to function in full harmony with nature. Each hole offers water hazards and wetlands. The manicured eighteen hole course provides a challenge for skilled golfers and fun for everyone. The course offers a practice facility with two putting greens and a driving range.

Bird Watch
Bird watchers see a wide variety of birds on St. George Island and in the surrounding area. Nearby Apalachicola National Forest provides a wild and extensive year round habitat. Ospreys and bald eagles have been spotted on nearby St. Vincent Island. Oyster catchers and brown pelicans are seen on many area beaches.
