Disney World is a massive complex that is better termed a little city located within
Orlando. To fully get the most from your trip to Disney World, it helps to begin with a plan that takes advantage of knowing some tips, hints, and maybe even a few secrets. With these advantages in mind, you may not control Disney World, but at least you can loosen the control it has over you and your party.
Planning
Before your visit, carefully look over each of the theme parks and decide which has the most attractions you consider a must-see. List the parks in order from that with the highest number of must-see to that with the least. If you are planning to stay less than four days, give serious consideration to scratching the least interesting park off your list entirely and possibly the number three park as well. Many people will find that to really get the biggest bank for their buck, they should plan on spending at least two days at each park.
Baby Swap
The baby swap is a life-saver for parents with kids too young to ride the thrill rides or too scared. In the old days, one parent would have to make their way all through the line and then the other parent would have to do the same thing. With baby swap you both get to the end of the line and then one parent rides while the other sits in a special waiting room with the kids. When the first parent's ride returns, they switch places. Baby swap saves time as well as the headache of finding out that the promise of a kid that this time he won't be too scared to ride is once again empty.
The Shortcut
One of the last remaining secrets about Disney World concerns a backdoor entrance. Since traffic can be quite horrific, this is a secret most people aren't willing to share. To avoid dealing with traffic jams going into the park, take the shortcut that begins on 192 east. Keep driving until you get to Sherberth Rd. Drive along Sherbeth until you arrive at a set of traffic lights. Turn left and continue down this road into the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Find yourself a parking spot, leave the car and head over to the Lodge and wait for a Disney bus heading to your desired destination within Disney World.
Epcot Passport
The World Showcase at Epcot is both entertaining and education for adults. Kids can very often get bored, however. A great way to increase the fun of the World Showcase is to get them the Epcot Passport. This little kit looks just like a real world traveler's passport and as each country of the World Showcase is entered, they can receive a special stamped sticker that shows they visited it. The passport is always a great way for the kids to learn a little more about the country, including some of the language, culture, and history. Most kids love collecting things and the idea of collecting all the stamps in their passport tends to increase the level of enjoyment at the World Showcase.
