Step 1
Go to the Google Maps Web site by clicking on the link "Google Maps" under "References" at the bottom of this page or typing maps.google.com into the address bar of your Web browser.
Step 2
Click "Get Directions" located near the top left of the screen under the heading "Google Maps." You will see two blanks appear where you can enter cities.
Step 3
Enter one city into each blank. If you want to calculate the distance between more than two cities, click "Add Destination" and another blank will appear. Make sure you specify that the cities are in Italy by writing, for example, Naples, Italy or Rome, Italy. Click "Get Directions" when you are ready to calculate the distance between the cities entered.
Step 4
Look for the distance under the heading "Driving Directions to (entered city)." You will see the distance in kilometers and the estimated amount of time it would take to drive there. The distance appears in kilometers by default because Italy uses the metric system. To change the distance to miles, click "Show Options" located under the blanks where you entered your city names. Click on the circle next to "miles" then click "Get Directions."
