Banff,
Canada is a year-round vacation. In the winter, the area is home to three, world-class ski areas. Come summer, people visit the area to hike in Banff National Park. With a few exceptions, most Banff lodging is located in the center of the town.
Banff Ptarmigan Inn
Location and affordability are the two things that make the Banff Ptarmigan Inn an excellent lodging venue choice. In the winter, the hotel is a short drive to the ski resorts. Summer visitors enjoy the Cave and Basin National Historic Site, and the Banff Upper Hot Springs. The hotel has recently added its signature mountain luxury beds, which will assure guests of a good night's sleep. Most rooms have free, high-speed Internet access.

Chateau Lake Louise
Although it may be pricey, the Chateau Lake Louise is one of the most beautiful hotels in the Banff area. It is also one of the few hotels that is actually located at the ski area. The lobby alone invokes images of royalty, so even if you can't afford to stay here, you might want to visit, and perhaps splurge on lunch at the Chateau Deli. The hotel is situated on Lake Louise, and some rooms have lake views.
