Things to Do in Akron, Ohio
Akron is a city just south of Cleveland and is the fifth largest city in Ohio. It is known for marketing the first synthetic rubber tire in 1940. Akron is also the birthplace of the trucking industry. In Akron, there is no shortage of things to do, whether catching a baseball game, a free concert or a film documenting the life of a first lady.
Lock 3 Live! Park
There is always something going on at Lock 3. Come shop at the Farmers Market every last Saturday of the month, from May through October, for fresh farm produce. Summer is alive with free concerts on Friday and Saturday nights and a variety of festivals in July. Beginning in November, Lock 3 offers a large outdoor ice-skating rink, along with an annual German Christkindl Market with authentic German food and crafts.

The Akron Zoo
