About Taxi Rides Between Disney World Resorts
The Disney World resort is a perfect place for a vacation without driving. It has excellent free transportation. If needed, taxis are readily available.
Not all Taxis are Created Equal

All cab companies in the Orlando area--Yellow Cab, City, Safety and Checker--are owned by Mears Transportation. Its cabs are all metered. Mears is the official taxi provider of Walt Disney World. Other cabs are independently owned and operated, and not all of them are metered.

What will it Cost?

A ride across the resort should never cost more than $20, and it will probably set you back much less. Mears provides a Fare Estimator online (see Resources).
Always verify the fare before getting in the cab, especially in an unmetered cab. Unsuspecting guests have been charged double the normal fare in unmetered cabs.

Getting a Taxi in the Parks

At the theme parks' transportation areas (where buses and shuttles drop off hotel guests) taxis are usually available. If you want to ensure that a cab meets you at the park, you can call (407) 422-2222.

Getting A Taxi at an Onsite Hotel

The easiest way to get a taxi at a Disney World hotel is to ask Bell Services to call one for you. The staff members are always happy to arrange for a cab to come quickly.

When to Take a Taxi

You should consider a taxi when the public transportation is too crowded, especially if you have small children. A taxi ride is also the most direct route between many of the hotels on the Disney property.
