The fourth largest city in the United Kingdom, Liverpool is also a port city, home to a diverse population of immigrants from Europe and Asia. Due to its diversity and metropolitan status, international cuisine has a large following here, and French cooking and style attract a wide clientele. From authentic bistros to modern cafes and English assimilations, there are a variety of pleasing French restaurants in Liverpool.
Bistro Pierre

Bistro Pierre is located in the Cavern Quarter of Liverpool. The old warehouse has been touched up with rich wooden floors and exposed brick walls for a traditional rustic atmosphere, complementing the authentic cuisine. Aside from a good selection of entrees and appetizers from the standard menu, Pierre provides a number of specials throughout the week that introduce an a la carte menu as well as promotions on house wine bottles. Perhaps the best deal is the daily lunch special, which features a three-course meal, changing every day in accordance with fresh market ingredients. There is also an early-bird special for dinner that runs Monday through Thursday.

Bistro Franc

Sister restaurant to Bistro Pierre, this establishment features similar cuisine along with the same array of specials that make authentic French cooking affordable for the masses. Situated in a segment of Church House, the former home to the Archbishop of Liverpool, the bistro is two stories. The top story is a gallery of paintings and prints from French artists and features large glass windows. The decor is French Rustic, with wooden tables, exposed brick and candles set in wine bottles adorning white-and-red checkered tables. Aside from traditional dishes like boeuf bourguignon or lamb and seafood dishes swimming in reduction sauces and purees, Franc offers a number of Mediterranean dishes as well. Come in on a Wednesday for an excellent deal: two courses from the a la carte menu along with a bottle of wine for one price.
