Disney World. Just those two simple words can result in squeals of joy from children across the world. Disney World is actually a collection of many different attractions --- each one has a special little secret, the knowing of which can result in a more pleasurable experience. Learn these Disney World vacation tips and increase your fun while decreasing your frustration.
Magic Kingdom
Every night at the Magic Kingdom culminates in the spectacular "Wishes" fireworks show. The best seat in the house for viewing the fireworks show can be found up and down Main Street USA. Of course, it gets crowded pretty quickly along Main Street so keep in mind that if you are in an area where you have an unobstructed view of the top of Cinderella Castle, you will have a nice view of the show.
EPCOT
When the rain starts to come down, head over to EPCOT if you have a park hopper ticket. Nearly all the rides and attractions at EPCOT are situated indoors and even the waiting lines are sheltered.
Disney Hollywood Studios
One of the best times to visit Disney Hollywood Studios is during May and June when the park hosts Star Wars Weekends. For four straight weekends, Friday through Sunday at Disney Hollywood means meeting Star Wars actors, watching Star Wars characters parading around, and browsing through the most impressive collection of Star Wars memorabilia this side of Skywalker Ranch.
Animal Kingdom
Even if you generally avoid live performances at theme parks, you really need to set aside your prejudices and take in the Festival of the Lion King. This is a really quite spectacular musical performance that will amaze and delight everyone from the youngest kids to the most jaded teens to parents and grandparents. Festival of the Lion King is absolutely one of the must-see non-ride attractions in all of Disney World.
Typhoon Lagoon
Everybody has seen those images of guys surfing inside a water park, but not everybody knows how to pull it off. If you pay a visit to this Disney water park, you can get three hours of surfing lessons for $150.
Downtown Disney
One of the coolest places to visit at Downtown Disney is a memorabilia store called Starabilias. This store is overflowing with movie posters signed by the cast, musical instruments signed by famous musicians, and even historical autographs. Prices can run quite high, but browsing is completely free.
