Renting a hotel room in Oregon is a rather simple process for those 21 and older. After providing the required information to the hotel, the room is given out to the renter. This simple process possibly becomes difficult only when the prospective renter is younger than 21. Checking with the desired hotel is the only surefire way to know whether you are eligible to rent a room there.
Age
Oregon, like many states, requires the renter of a hotel room to be at least 18 years old.
Hotel Choice
In Oregon, hotel owners can decide to raise the required age to their liking; 21 years old is the most common alternate age requirement.
Requirements
You must provide photo identification and a valid credit card to cover the cost of the deposit, or pay upfront in cash for both the deposit and the cost of the room.
Parental Consent
In Oregon, parents can call a hotel and give their credit card number to pay for the room, but the child must be at least 18 years old.
Youth Hostels
Oregon youth hostels sometimes rent rooms to people younger than 18 years old.
