The Best Steak Houses in Los Angeles
Like any large metropolitan area, Los Angeles has many steakhouses that can appease the masses. While many local steakhouses will delight a diner, there are three stand-out locations known for their Hollywood glamor and dedication to steak preparation.
Nick & Stef's Steakhouse

While many Los Angeles-area restaurants are known for their steaks, none enjoy the reputation that Nick & Stef's does. Nick & Stef's is known for being extremely selective about its meat, choosing only the top 2 percent of Black Angus beef. The restaurant also dry-ages its New York and rib eye steaks for 28 days in an on-display aging room that is set at 35 degrees with 85 percent humidity.

Cut

Chef Wolfgang Puck opened Cut in June 2006 and it's been a Tinseltown staple ever since. Located inside the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Cut is known for its celebrity patrons, glamorous sidebar and steaks. The latter are grilled over a mixture of charcoal and hard wood before they're broiled at 1,200 degrees. Steaks are made of either corn-fed USDA prime beef or American or Japanese wagyu, which contains marbleized fat that adds flavor. Cut also features a 34-ounce porterhouse that is ideal for sharing.

Ruth's Chris

Ruth's Chris is a steakhouse that can be found in many states, but one of its most famous locations is in Los Angeles. It is tucked into an intimate corner of Beverly Hills where numerous celebrities and Hollywood moguls, hoping to avoid the spotlight that Rodeo Drive establishments bring, go to dine. To the average person, however, Ruth's Chris is a great Los Angeles hangout because it adds a rare element to the steak-cooking process. Instead of using a marinade or steak sauce to enhance the flavor of its meat, Ruth's Chris tops its steaks, which are cooked at 1,800 degrees, with butter right before it's brought to the table. As it's being transported, the butter slowly infiltrates the steak, adding flavor and a warm creaminess to the sizzling steak.
