Activities in Clearwater Beach, Florida
Clearwater
beach is located on the western side of Florida overlooking the Gulf of
Mexico. Clearwater is a city that focuses on tourism, which it revolves most of its business around. Clearwater Beach is considered the area in and around the beach--inside the city of Clearwater. The beach makes up most of the main activities of the entire city. Visitors are drawn to the beach area for water fun, sightseeing and good food.
Clearwater Beach
Clearwater Beach is a clean public beach that is drenched with sugary white sands and crystal clear water. Not only is it home to some of the hottest beach bodies on the planet, it is also a great place to build sand castles, play beach volleyball, look for shells or just simply relax. Clearwater Beach charges guests by the hour to use the beach---so be sure to bring some extra cash. There's also a full-service restroom and shower area within walking distance to the beach. A food kiosk that sells ice-cold drinks and scrumptious snacks is also available seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. There is a cabana and chair rental available for those who do not want to be directly in the sun.
Pier 60
Pier 60 is an area worth visiting in the Clearwater Beach area. There are plenty of things to see during the day, such as a boardwalk filled with vendors, a wharf and fishing pier, as well as a small amusement park for adventurers and children. There are several restaurants that serve a variety of cuisine including fresh seafood from the Gulf of Mexico. One of the main attractions at Pier 60 is the sunsets, for which visitors line up and stretch out their chairs to take in some of the best sunsets in Florida.

This pirate cruise is unique because it actually takes place on a replicated pirate ship called "Pirates Ransom." The vessel can carry up to 125 passengers--but be sure to reserve tickets early because they fill up fast. This ship re-creates pirate scenarios and allows guests to be a part of reenactments. The ship also allows visitors to see dolphins and sharks in their natural habitats. Light refreshments are served on the two-hour cruise.
