Activities for Children at the Beijing Olympics

The 2008 Summer Olympics were held in Beijing, China. This made China the 22nd country to host the Olympics. More than 11,000 athletes participated in the Olympic Games in a total of 302 events. The Chinese Government invested heavily in the games and as a result there were lots of activities for tourists and their children to enjoy.
Cycling

During breaks between Olympic events, tourists and their children can rent bicycles and cycle around the city. It is an ideal way to get around Beijing, since there is lots of road traffic and some restrictions are in place regarding tourists being able to drive cars. Furthermore, children have the opportunity to get in some exercise while enjoying the weather and beautiful sites of Beijing. Cycle rental shops are located on virtually every street.
