Overview
Location. Located in the High Peaks region of the Adirondack Park Preserve, the South Meadow Farm Lodge is tucked away in a secluded meadow in Lake Placid, New York. Surrounded by breathtaking mountain and woodland views, the lodge enjoys easy access to the 50 kilometers of groomed Olympic Trails at Mt. Hoevenberg which offer fantastic hiking, biking and cross-country skiing opportunities. Lake Placid is home to Mount Marcy, the states highest peak and a number of events like the ESPN Great Outdoor Games, Lake Placid Film Forum and the USA Ironman triathlon. Whiteface Mountain Ski Area is less than 15 miles from the property and attracts skiers and snowboarders from all over the world. Whiteface Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway snakes up the mountain and offers panoramic views of the Adirondacks. Beyond the parking area visitors have the option of riding an elevator inside the mountain or climbing an exposed rocky staircase to the summit. Lake Placid has several bars and nightclubs that keep the fun going late into the night.
Hotel Features. Beautiful views, natural lighting and wood tones create a relaxing ambience. Guests receive a complimentary full country breakfast, with dinner available upon request. The lodge also features a wood-fired sauna.
Guestrooms. Each of the guestrooms are individually decorated and furnished, most with private bathrooms. Although every room is different, highlights include exposed wood-beams, vaulted ceilings, fireplaces and jetted tubs.
Expert Tip. The lodge is also known for making some of the finest maple syrup and maple sugar candy around. Stop by in the spring to see how they make their tasty treats.
