Overview
Walnut Lawn Bed & Breakfast in the village of Lampeter, Lancaster County, PA is a 1909 brick two-story colonial offering four large guest rooms with private baths. Beautiful chestnut woodwork, pocket doors, and many quilts warm this spacious home. When you arrive at the Walnut Lawn you will marvel at the giant walnut tree that shades the front of the b&b along with the mature fruit trees that line the driveway. The placement of flowers and greens around the b&b give it a truly country flavor. Tom and Sarah, your Innkeepers, spent three years teaching English in Thailand as Peace Corps Volunteers after retiring from their careers in education and nursing. They have always enjoyed hosting family and friends and now welcome the opportunity to offer you a unique experience within the Amish and Mennonite culture of Lancaster County. Tom is informed on local culture and the history of the Amish and Mennonites. Sarah is always available to assist guests. They can help you customize your country adventures. Nearby are Sight and Sound Millennium Theater, Strasburg Railroad, Hans Herr House, covered bridges, antique and quilt shops and outlet malls and they can direct you to Amish health food, craft and furniture stores.
