Overview
Hawk Valley Retreat was once the homestead of the Cording family, who farmed this beautiful valley for more than 95 years. Now, the cropland belongs to others but ten acres of property along with the house and cottages, other out-buildings, a pond, and one of the few remaining turn-of-the-century barns, has become our haven. We invite you to share and enjoy the peace and tranquility of our home, set back one-half mile off Cording Road. Sit on the deck with our cat, Patches, and watch songbirds at the feeders, the Redtail Hawks soar above, or a magnificent sunset. Try your luck fishing in the pond, enjoy the gardens, take a walk on our nature trail, or roast hot dogs and marshmallows over an open fire. If you just want to relax, you can read one of the books from our extensive library, retreat to the privacy of your room, or make friends over a cup of coffee. The main house has two guestrooms with private baths, fireplace in living room, formal dining room, central air, wraparound deck, covered porch with swing. Three new luxurious cottages – each with king bed, fireplace, large double whirlpool tub, full bath, galley kitchen, a/c, satellite tv/vcr, sitting area with sleeper sofa, and covered porch are available for short or long term rental. Ten secluded acres with pond, gardens, and walking trail are open to our guests. Games (Scrabble, jigsaw puzzles, croquet, badminton and horseshoes), a tennis partner, fishing equipment, snowshoes and sleds are available as well.
