Our Wisconsin log cabin lodging is in a secluded country setting on 5 ½ wooded acres minutes north of Platteville wi, less than 30 minutes from Eagle Ridge Galena Territory, Galena IL and Dubuque ia. It's a true getaway from all outside distractions. Relax, unwind and rekindle your relationship with a stay at Walnut Ridge. Guests enjoy a continental breakfast on weekdays and a yummy continental deluxe breakfast on weekends. Breakfast items are delivered fresh each morning to your door, and include such items as homemade muffins (apple, blueberry, cranberry, coffee praline), fruit breads, kringles, bagels, english muffins, fruit, yogurt, and our traditional Cornish Figgy Hobbin. Coffee, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal, and granola bars are always in the dining room cabinet. Enjoy breakfast while listening to the birds, nature, and the clip-clop of horse drawn Amish buggies. Spend evenings enjoying the warmth and crackling of a real wood burning fire in a native limestone fireplace while relaxing in the spacious whirlpool. Our log guest cottage is nestled in the woods of scenic Southwest Wisconsin, surrounded by rolling hills and hidden valleys. We're surrounded by thick woods of oak, maple, and walnut trees, a perfect habitat for wildlife and birds. During the warmer months enjoy the prairie flowers and gardens throughout the grounds. Many guests find our Wisconsin log cabin so enjoyable and peaceful they don't want to venture out, although there are many nearby places to visit. Take in the many attractions, shopping & restaurants of nearby Galena Illinois, Eagle Ridge Galena Golf, Galena skiing, Dubuque Iowa & it's Riverview Museum, Madison Wisconsin, Monroe Wisc, historic Shullsburg WI and Mineral Point Wisconsin, all within 15 - 60 miles of us.
