Overview
Located on the Virginia Civil War Trail within 35 minutes of Brandy Station, The Wilderness, and Chancellorsville. Ridge View is in what is now called the village of Rochelle. This is where the battle of Jack's Shop (modern Rochelle) took place on September 22, 1863. The artillery duel between the forces of General j.e.b. Stuart of the South and the forces of Generals Judson Kilpatrick and John Buford of the North resulted in heavy casualties on both sides.
