Overview
The Inn at Rutland is a distinctive Victorian mansion built in 1889 by William F. Burditt which has been carefully restored to its original elegant charm. The interior is rich with period architectural details, such as the warm leather wainscoting in the dining room, to the leaded glass window over the formal grand staircase. The 2 common rooms offer a comfortable atmosphere for reading, relaxing or just a quiet conversation sitting by the hearth. Our rocking chair front porch provides a magnificent view of the sunset over the town and mountains. The authentic carriage house also provides secure storage for your bicycles and all your ski equipment. The Rutland region combines a vibrant shopping and business district. Ideally situated in central Vermont, the Inn at Rutland is only 15 minutes from Pico and Killington ski areas, and is a perfect base for touring all of the Green Mountain State and its wealth of year-round activities. Our 8 guest rooms have been tastefully decorated to recreate the past, while maintaining modern comforts. All rooms have a Victorian feel, carefully created with period reproductions and antiques. Each unique room features a private bathroom, remote color cable TV, and direct-dial telephone. A delicious gourmet three-course breakfast is also included with your lodging. We feature a variety of homemade baked goods, fresh fruit platters, cereals, waffles, French toast, quiches, coffee, tea, and juices. Whether here on business or pleasure, the Inn at Rutland provides our guests hotel amenities, with the comforts of home.
