Wisp Ski Resort in Maryland
Located in northwest Maryland, Wisp
resort Hotel and Conference Center offers 32 ski trails on more than 132 acres. The resort is situated on Deep Creek Mountain in McHenry, Maryland. It is only two hours from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and less than three hours from
Baltimore, Maryland. According to the hotel, it is Maryland's only four-season resort.
Accommodations
The Wisp Resort Hotel and Conference Center features 102 suites and 67 guestrooms. All accommodations are non-smoking. All rooms have a refrigerator, coffeemaker, hair dryer, cable TV and high-speed wireless Internet access.
Mountain Information
Base elevation is 2,415 feet, and summit elevation is 3,115 feet. It has vertical drop of 700 feet and has 132 skiable acres. Forty-one percent of the trails are for beginners and 31 percent are intermediate.
Rental Equipment
Rental ski equipment is available, which include the sport ski package, ski performance package, snowboards, snowboard performance packages and helmet rentals.
Lessons
The Wisp Resort and Hotel offers ski lessons for children and adults. Lessons can be all day or half-day. Rates vary according to days of the week and length of lesson.
Lift Tickets
Rates vary depending on whether is early, peak or postseason. And rates during weekends are generally higher than skiing during the week. Children ages 6 to 12 have reduced rates. Children under 6 are free. Seniors ages 65 to 69 also receive a reduced rate.
