Reno, Nevada, is located in the western part of the state. It is the third largest city in Nevada, following
Las Vegas and Henderson. It is famous for being a gambling and casino hub, but to a lesser extent than Las Vegas. It is often referred to as "The Biggest Little City in the World." If you are planning to visit Reno, there is no shortage of exciting things to do and see while you are there.
Gambling
Reno is well known for its many casinos and its gambling. One of the best places to go gambling in Reno is the Silver Legacy resort and Casino. The casino is 85,000 square feet in size and full of table games and classic slot machines, and it even has a nonsmoking gambling area. Reno is a good shopping city, with several large shopping centers. Meadowood Mall is a particularly popular shopping attraction in Reno, as it has over 100 stores, restaurants and salons. The mall has department stores like Macy's, JCPenney and Sears, restaurants like Bully's Sports Bar and Grill and Lulu's Tacos, and other stores including Sunglass Hut, Aeropostale, Victoria's Secret, Borders Express, Radio Shack, Claire's and The Body Shop. Dining
Reno is a great dining city, with restaurants spanning all different types of food, from French to Mexican to Pan-Asian, Chinese, Indian, Thai and everything in between. The 4th Street Bistro is considered by many to be one of the best restaurants in Reno. The restaurant serves food that is mostly organic, but with a French flair. Ultimate Rush Thrill Park
If you are a daredevil who loves adventure, you might want to consider visiting the Ultimate Rush Thrill Park while in Reno. This park has miniature golf, bumper cars, go-karts, and the daring Ultimate Rush, which combines elements of bungee jumping, hang-gliding and sky diving by "dropping" riders from a tower that is an astounding 185 feet high.
