El Paso is the sunniest city in the state of Texas. It is also a great place to find music festivals, marathon races and a mixture of American and Mexican cultures.

El Paso is the fourth sunniest city in the United States and the number one sunniest city in the state of Texas. It receives over 193 days a year with little to no cloud coverage in the sky, and 84% of the day between sunrise and sunset is sunny.
Location
El Paso is at the very westernmost tip of Texas, just over the border from both the state of New Mexico and the country of Mexico.
Features
El Paso has many attractions to offer for tourists and those that call the city home, such as a city zoo, a petting farm, vineyards and wineries, and several historical sites. The city also hosts annual music festivals, Mardi Gras parties, marathons and large sporting events.
Size
The population of El Paso is around 607,000 people. It is the fourth largest city in Texas and the 22nd largest city in the United States.
History
The first settlement in the El Paso area was founded by Spaniards in 1659 and called El Paso del Norte. It did not become part of Texas until 1850, after both the Mexican-American war and the Texas Revolution had both occurred.
