The Outer Banks of North Carolina offers a coastal experience convenient to all the restaurants and recreation usually found in major metropolitan areas. Most of the lodging offered in the communities of Kitty Hawk, Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills are chain hotels or vacation home rentals. There are several hotels that qualify as the best of the Outer Banks.

Hilton Garden Inn Kitty Hawk is one of the newest hotels offered on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and provides higher-end services at reasonable prices. Each guest room offers a private balcony view of the Atlantic Ocean. Hotel guests can also enjoy a seasonal outdoor pool, on-site dining, wireless Internet and a fitness center. Room rates as of April 2009 start at about $110 per night.

Clarion Hotel on the Ocean
Clarion Hotel on the Ocean offers resort lodging in the Kill Devil Hills community on the Outer Banks. Pets are welcome at Clarion Hotel on the Ocean, and guests get views of both the Atlantic Ocean and Roanoke Sound. Amenities include a seasonal outdoor pool, free high-speed Internet, an exercise center and guest laundry. The Nags Head Inn is one of the best hotels on the Outer Banks for those seeking both convenience to other attractions and an oceanfront experience.
