West Virginia has family campgrounds with cabins in some of the state parks and in private campgrounds as well. There are cabins for those who think the best are completely furnished with all the amenities including heat and there are cabins for those who think the best are rustic with just the basic needs. One thing all the parks have in common is the fact that there is plenty to do and see.
Beech Fork State Park

Beech Fork State Park has 2, 3 and 4 bedroom cabins. There is a 3 night minimum on weekends, the cabins can be rented on a weekly instead of a daily basis during the summer and they can be rented for up to 14 nights. Weeks run from Monday to Monday. The cabins are available year round and in the off season they are rented on a 2 day basis with the 3 night minimum pertaining only to holiday weekends and pets are allowed. The park features basketball, tennis, horseshoes, softball and volleyball from April through October, a 50 meter swimming pool and bathhouse, snack bar, lockers, paddle boats, canoes, kayaks and row boats. The lake is for fishing and boating and there are trails for hiking and biking, fitness trails and picnic facilities.

Big Bear Lake

Big Bear Lake has 1 and 2 room cabins. The 1 bedroom cabins sleep 4 and the 2 room cabins sleep 6. All of the cabins have a grill, fire ring and picnic table and restrooms and showers are close by. Big Bear Lake has miniature golf, a game room, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, a baseball field, hiking trails and 2 lakes for swimming and fishing.

North Bend State Park

North Bend State Park has 9 secluded cabins all with fireplaces, central heat and air and telephone. There are cabins with 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms and they are fully equipped with cooking utensils, dishes, linens, blankets, kitchens with modern appliances and baths with built in shower/tub units. There is a 1 week minimum rental during the summer with the week running from Monday to Monday. Dogs and cats are allowed in some of the cabins. The park features a full service restaurant, picnic shelters, horse drawn carriage rides, bike rentals, conference rooms, swimming pool, hiking trails and a 308 acre lake.
