Freeport New York Waterfront Restaurants
Freeport,
New York, is a culturally diverse village on Long Island's southern shore. Fish markets, sailing boats and gift shops stretch across the village's Woodcleft Avenue, also known as the Nautical Mile. The area is home to the annual Spring Gem and Mineral Show, the annual Long Island Book Fair and several waterfront restaurants. A few of the restaurants have their own boat and venture onto the nearby waterways to catch fresh seafood. Menu items are as diverse as the village itself.
Blue 42 Restaurant
Blue 42 Restaurant is located next to the Woodcleft Canal on Freeport's Nautical Mile. Seafood, pasta and American cuisine are prepared by the restaurant's chef. Homemade mozzarella with fresh tomatoes, baked clams, crab cakes, calamari, lobster bisque, salmon, crabmeat stuffed with tilapia, shrimp scampi, buffalo wings and chicken parmesan are sample menu items. Fish, chicken and hamburger sandwiches are also served. Televisions placed throughout the indoor bar let patrons watch their favorite sports or entertainment programs while they dine on finger foods or enjoy their favorite beverage. Three-course dinner cooking lessons are offered by the chef at various times throughout the year. Dress is casual.

Rachel's Waterside Grill
Patrons can dine indoors or outdoors at Rachel's Waterside Grill along the Woodcleft Canal. Guests can dine on finger foods and enjoy their favorite beverage at the bar. Blackened shrimp, clams, oysters, mussels, chicken penne, sea scallops, flounder, codfish and tilapia can be made grilled, baked, sauteed or seared to order. Other sample menu items include New York steak, chili-seared tuna, Maine lobster, stuffed flounder and a sesame grilled salmon wrap. Boats are docked at the water's edge, less than 100 yards from Rachel's. Dress is casual.

The Schooner Restaurant
Schooner Restaurant guests can dine outdoors on the patio and look out over the water. Sample menu items include teriyaki-glazed salmon, tilapia with lobster cream sauce, flounder stuffed with crabmeat, Maine lobster and filet mignon. Pasta, salad and seafood sandwiches are available. A DJ spins music on Saturdays outside at the cabana; local artists provide entertainment on Sunday evenings. Dress is casual.
