The Best Value for the Buck on Hotels in Orlando, Florida
Orlando is a destination city. Major tourist draws such as the Walt Disney World resort, Universal Studios Orlando and Wet 'n Wild often make finding suitable accommodations in the city difficult. However, there are lodging options available in the city that offer more amenities than most hotels and do so with competitive pricing.
The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne

Conveniently located in downtown Orlando, The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne is a bed and breakfast consisting of four historic buildings set around a central courtyard and garden. The four buildings include Orlando's oldest home, The Normant-Parry Inn, a Victorian style home; The Wellborn, a fine example of Art Deco design; the I.W. Phillips House, an estate style house built in the Edwardian style, and a Victorian mansion known as the Dr. Phillips House. Accommodations resemble dolls houses in their detail and are decorated with antiques from the period of construction. Rooms are very comfortable here and all guests receive a complimentary carafe of wine. The main draw here is the peace and quiet in an area that generally is missing such serenity.

Disney's All Star Movies Resort

Another excellent value is Disney's All Star Movies Resort. The resort is a tribute to classic films and is one of many lodging options available at the Walt Disney World Resort. If children are involved, this is a perfect choice as it offers direct access to the park as well a fair price, plus close proximity to central Orlando. The exterior of each building is designed to salute a specific film. Dalmatian statues representing "101 Dalmatians" over 30 feet tall will make the kids squeal with joy at one building, while other buildings salute Toy Story, Herbie: The Love Bug, and Fantasia. Extras include complimentary transportation and a large food court.

La Quinta Inn Orlando International Drive

The La Quinta Inn is part of a chain of hotels and is designed with a southwestern mission theme in mind. The hotel accommodations are standard and offer the basic amenities as well as being clean. But what makes this hotel a good value is its location. Located just off busy International Drive, the inn sits within minutes of some of Orlando's top attractions including Wet 'n Wild, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. Also within minutes of the hotel and worth mentioning for business travelers is the Orange County Convention Center. Just across the street, nightlife and shopping can be found at the Mercado.
