Vacation Planning in the Florida Keys
A vacation to the Florida Keys is the quintessential tropical retreat, with stunning turquoise water, lush plant and sea life, and a laid-back environment ideal for families and couples alike. Spanning more than 100 miles, the Florida Keys are made up of a series of islands, starting with Key Largo just an hour south of
Miami, and ending in Key West, only 90 miles from Cuba.
Geography
The Florida Keys are usually divided into three geographic sections: The upper keys (Key Largo and Plantation Key), the middle keys (Long Key and Marathon), and the lower keys (Key West).
Features
Scuba diving is one of the most popular activities, particularly in Key Largo, which is known as the "Diving Capital of the World." Key West is the most visited island, with several historic attractions and a lively nightlife.
