Family beach resorts
offer a popular way for family members to enjoy a vacation away from home together. U.S. beach resorts offer an affordable option for that family excursion. Beach destinations in the United States
can range from the famously warm and sandy shores of Southern California and Florida, to the moderately cooler climes of the northwest and northeast coastlines. Depending upon your family's preferences, there is a wide variety of destinations from which to choose.
San Diego's sunny shores are world famous for their hot beaches, sizzling nightlife and stunning scenery. Loews resort in upscale Coronado adds one more notch to its claim to fame: A family-oriented vacation resort situated in one of southern California's most prestigious boating capitals. Nestled in a bay just off of beautiful Silver Strand State Park, the resort has made its rep on its all-inclusive family amenities. Kids programs, teen activities, sailing, relaxing gondola rides and a pampering spa ensure that every member of the family feels included in the program. Dining options include the resort's three restaurants as well as upscale Coronado. $250 per night and up.

With temperatures on the rise, northern destinations are gaining popularity for their spacious beaches and eye-popping vistas. The Inn at Spanish Head in Lincoln City is the only hotel in Oregon that is built right on the beach. With miles of sand, surf and state parks, the outdoor advantages can't be beat. Kids' facilities at the Inn aren't as ample or as inclusive as those at South Seas or Coronado, but as your kids may point out, who needs activities at the hotel when you have Oregon's magnificent tidal pools and beaches to investigate? Whale watching trips, a marine center and on-site kids' games offer a full day of activities. Fine dining includes the Inn's 10th-floor restaurant and lounge with stunning views, or a number of restaurants in nearby Newport. $130 and up.
