Things to Do With a 3 Year-Old on Maui
One of the most visited islands in the world is Maui, Hawaii. Although many people who think of Maui may conjure up images of weddings, honeymoons and anniversaries which include couples holding hands on a
beach, Maui is also an extremely family friendly destination. If you are traveling with a toddler or two, you may wonder types of activities are available for children on Maui. Listed below are some things to do with a 3 year-old on Maui.
Visit the Maui Ocean Center
The Maui Ocean Center gives 3 year-old children the chance to explore Hawaiian ocean life up close. With over 60 exhibits and many opportunities for hands on activities, your toddler is sure to have fun looking at the fishes, dolphins, sea turtles, sharks, seals, and whales. Attend a Luau
Everyone who visits Hawaii should attend a luau, even your toddler. These traditional Hawaiian feasts not only provide distinctive Hawaiian food, but they offer great entertainment that your 3-year-old is sure to enjoy, such as knife throwers and hula dancers. The majority of luaus in Maui do not charge for children under five years old. Use your savings on admission to purchase reserved seating ahead of time so your little one can see all the exciting things going on during and after dinner.

Go to the Beach
Whether you head to world famous Kaanapali Beach or another beach, you will certainly be able to find things to do with a 3 year-old on Maui's gorgeous beaches. Building a sandcastle, searching for sea shells and splashing in crystal clear waves will be sure to put a smile on your toddler's face. Remember than the tropical sun of Maui can be harsh on the delicate skin of child. Be sure to plan your beach outing in the early morning or late afternoon to protect your little one from the midday sun. Be sure to pack your sunscreen, a sun hat and a sun umbrella, too.
Atlantis Submarine
Going for a ride on the Atlantis Submarine is another opportunity for your 3 year-old to get close to Maui's marine life. The 90-minute tour explores the wildlife of the natural coral reefs and artificial reef with only glass separating you from the sea. During December through May, guests may choose to watch for whales during the ship-to-shore portion of the excursion.
