Williamsburg, Virginia, is usually prefaced by the word "colonial." In a location with as much historical importance as Williamsburg, February is a busy month indeed. February is Black History Month, and Williamsburg has many programs and celebrations of this as well as accurately portraying the Civil War life and slavery conditions. While February isn't thought of as a vacation month, it is definitely worth a trip to Williamsburg even for a weekend in February.
Black History Activities
There are interpretive programs, productions, educational tours, and many other activities in Williamsburg to celebrate Black History Month. Wrap up and take walking tours through the area, learning about black history at each stop.
Shopping
Prime Outlets is Williamsburg's large outlet mall. You can find Escade, Polo and Michael Kors factory outlet stores as well as many others. Prime Outlets is one of the nation's top 10 outlet malls, and is arranged in a boutique style.
