The Best Things to Do at Universal Studies in Orlando

Universal Studios in the tourist-friendly city of Orlando, Florida, takes visitors behind the scenes of some of the biggest blockbusters and popular TV shows of all times. It is a theme park that re-creates scenes from those films in the form of amusement park rides, turning a day at the movies into a thrilling adventure. While there are many rides to choose from within the park, there are a few attractions that reign supreme when it comes to Universal Studios' top rides.
Revenge of the Mummy Ride 3D Roller Coaster

Thrill-seeking visitors flock to the Revenge of the Mummy Ride to experience quick turns, sharp drops and fast speeds up to 45 mph on an indoor roller coaster. As the name of the ride suggests, this attraction is reflective of scenes from the movie, with warrior mummies, fireballs and scarab beetles strategically placed throughout the ride. While these items are visible for the majority of the ride, there are points when riders suddenly drop into total darkness.

Jaws Water Ride

Jaws is one of the more dated rides in the park, but it still tops best list of top attractions at Universal Studios. This ride takes place on the water with guests onboard a boat, waiting for Jaws to pop out and attack. The Jaws ride is filled with suspense, with a tour guide aboard the boat that teases visitors with sightings of the shark's infamous fin. When Jaws finally emerges, boaters erupts in shocked screams.

Terminator II 3D Ride

Terminator II 3D is a definite highlight within the park's attractions. In this interactive ride, park visitors fight futuristic cyborgs alongside the Terminator. Guests boarding this ride are in for an adventure, with special effects and live-action stunts making this attraction come to life. As all of this is going on, a 3-D film is also playing with the screen's action popping out to the visitor's seats.

The Simpsons Ride

The Simpsons Ride has garnered the praise of theme park critics, including winning ThemeParkInsider.com's "Best New Theme Park Attraction" in 2008. The attraction is also a hit among park visitors, regardless of whether they are fans of the animated show. On the Simpsons Ride, guests hop into a vehicle and go on a simulated ride through Krustyland, Krusty the Clown's carnivalesque theme park. During the ride they learn that the treacherous Sideshow Bob escaped from prison and is on the hunt for revenge against the Simpsons and Krusty the Clown. The vehicle seems to fly, float and crash along the way as guests experience the sights and sounds of the park. The ride is only about six minutes long, but riders are able to watch footage from "The Simpsons" during the ride, and a Simpsons-filled video is shown before the ride begins.
